He received his Ph.D. from the University of Florida in 1998 on combinatorial optimization algorithms. Has been a researcher and visiting professor at Princeton, London School of Economics and Technical University of Greece, while he currently is an associate professor at the Electrical Engineering Department of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki which he joined at 2004.
His research interests include among others combinatorial optimization algorithms, graph theory and matroids, complex networks and machine learning. He has been awarded four research grants from national and European funding, and he has supervised two Ph.D. students and two master’s students. Has several invited visits to research labs such Bell Laboratories, US Air Force Research Laboratory and Harish-Chandra Research Institute, while he has given numerous invited talks to international conferences and workshops.
