papagiannis

Grigoris K. Papagiannis was born in Thessaloniki, Greece, on September 23, 1956. He received his Dipl.-Eng. and the Ph.D. degree from the School of Electrical and Computer Engineering at the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, in 1979 and 1998 respectively.

Since 1981 he has been working as a research assistant and then as a Lecturer (1998-2006), Assistant Professor (2006-2010), Associate Professor (2010-2015) and Professor at the Power Systems Laboratory of the School of Electrical and Computer Engineering at the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, Greece. In the period 2017-2020, he was the Head of the School of Electrical and Computer Engineering at the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki.

His special interests are power systems analysis and simulation tools for the computation of electromagnetic transients in power systems.

G.K. Papagiannis is a member of the Technical Chamber of Greece, IET and CIGRE and a Senior Member of IEEE.
