KantartzisNikolaos V. Kantartzis was born in Kavala in 1971. He received his Diploma Degree (M.Sc.) and Doctorate Degree in Electrical & Computer Engineering from the School of Electrical & Computer Engineering (SECE), Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (AUTH), in 1994 and 1999, respectively. His doctoral thesis focused on the development of generalized high-order computational schemes and perfectly matched layers in curvilinear coordinate systems, for the solution of complex electromagnetic problems. From 2001 to 2010, he has been with the Applied & Computational Electromagnetics Unit of the Telecommunications Laboratory, SECE, AUTH, as a Senior Research Fellow, while from 2003 to 2004, he has been a Post-Doctoral Researcher of the State Scholarship Foundation of Greece at the SECE, AUTH, to study 3-D electromagnetic compatibility problems of arbitrary geometry.

Since 2010, he has been with the Faculty of the Department of Telecommunications, SECE, AUTH, where he, now, serves as a Professor of “Electromagnetic Compatibility”. He teaches the undergraduate courses «Electromagnetic Field Ι» (3rd semester), «Electromagnetic Field II» (4th semester), «Electromagnetic Wave Propagation Ι» (5th semester), «Electromagnetic Field Propagation IΙ» (6th semester), «Computational Electromagnetics» (8th semester), «Electromagnetic Compatibility» (9th semester) and «Non-destructive Testing Methods» (9th semester), as well as in the postgraduate courses «Special Topics in Analytical, Applied, Computational Electromagnetics and Field Propagation», «Special Topics in Radar, Microwaves, and Antennas» and «Special Topics in Wireless Communications and Electromagnetic Applications». His research interests include electromagnetic compatibility (EMC), EMC principles and systems, standardization of EMC systems, electromagnetic interference (ΕΜΙ) and shielding, anechoic chambers and technology of measurements, EMC circuit models, management and utilization of electromagnetic spectrum, development of computational techniques for EMC/ΕΜΙ problems, applications of specialized materials in EMC/EMI structures, and wireless power transfer.

Dr. Nikolaos Kantartzis is a senior member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) and a member of the Technical Chamber of Greece.
